Filmmakers Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine have fashioned a dazzlingly entrancing ode to the revolutionary 20th century dance troupe. The film maps the company's Diaghilev-era beginnings in turn-of-the-century Paris to its halcyon days of the 30s and 40s when they toured America, to its demise in the 50s and 60s. Directed with consummate invention and infused with anecdotal interviews from many of the company's stars, this film treats modern audiences to a rare glimpse of the remarkable merger that transformed the face of ballet for generations to come. Included is orignal music by Todd Boekelheide and David Conte.
